You are facing a mirror and asking yourself for the nth time if things are going to be well for that first date. What can you possibly do wrong after preparing for the whole day? To make things easier, and since you are on a rush to head for that symbolic encounter, let’s have a fast run down of the things you should remember.
1. Breath freshener. Expect to be in a close range with your date so you better check your pockets for mints or breathe sprays, especially if any strong smelling ingredients, like onions, are on the menu. This way, you can freely smile and speak to hear without worrying she might faint.
2. Smell good. Whether it’s cologne, perfumes, or aftershave, remember not to wear anything that’s too strong on the nose. Your aim is to entice her to come a bit closer, not to assault her senses. Choose ones that not only shows your wise decision, but also suits your personality.
3. Check your shoes and clothes again and again before meeting her. She would surely prepare for your date, so there is no reason for you to come with disheveled attire, unkempt hair and untidy shoes. No need to purchase everything new, you would just have to be presentable.
4. Wallet. As absurd as it may sound, people tend to forget the most important things when rushing for an important meeting - a laptop or a briefcase containing a business presentation, the passport for an international travel, or a term paper for school day. In this case, this temporary lapse in memory as often portrayed in movies, the woman usually gets to pay for the entire expense. Going Dutch is of course a good option nowadays, but it is an entirely different thing to ask for a credit with your date. Rather than risk giving an unfavorable impression, be sure that your wallet stays with you.
Remembering these things comprises only half the preparation, but at least you have some odds on your side.
